NITA | IT PROFESSIONALS REGISTRATION FORM

This regulatory process is for the purpose of registering all IT Professionals in the country for certification purposes by the NATIONAL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AGENCY (NITA).

BACKGROUND

As part of its activities, the Agency intends to register IT professionals and certify IT Suppliers/Vendors who provide IT services and equipment to MDAs/MMDAs in the fulfillment of government’s ultimate strategic goal of ensuring a secure, robust, and interoperable e-government Infrastructure for communications, networks, servers, Internet and web services, applications, security and core cross government systems.

The registration will enhance the level of IT security needed to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of IT at all times cognizance of cyber security challenges.

OBJECTIVE

Certifying these IT individuals and organizations is as a result of the level of IT security needed to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of IT at all times cognizance of cyber security challenges that we face in the use of IT. The objective of this is therefore to create a vast array of credible IT professionals and cohesion in the development, deployment and investment IT in fulfillment of government’s digital agenda.

APPLICATION PROCESS

  • Individuals or organizations would be mandated to fill and submit an online application form via (regulatory.nita.gov.gh) at a fee based on some requirements.
  • After application, individuals or organizations would be contacted and certificates issued.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Application Requirements for IT Professionals Certification Categories
IT TECHNICIAN
  • Diploma certificate in IT/Engineering related field from accredited institution of higher learning based on level of application.
  • Scanned copy of Ghana Card.
IT GRADUATE
  • Graduate certificate in IT/Engineering related field from accredited institution of higher learning based on level of application.
  • Scanned copy of Ghana Card.
IT PRACTITIONER
  • Diploma or Graduate certificate in IT/Engineering related field from accredited institution of higher learning based on level of application.
  • Scanned copy of Ghana Card.
IT PROFESSIONALS
  • Professional Certificate in the specific area(s) from accredited institution.
  • Scanned copy of Ghana Card.
  • Letters of reference from employer(s) covering the previous (5) years confirming professional integrity. (PDF Format)
  • Statements of two referees detailing knowledge of applicant.

PURPOSE OF CERTIFICATION / INCENTIVES

  • Access free trainings organized by NITA.
  • Being a part of Stakeholder meetings, comments, and reviews.
  • Helps enhance jobs opportunities for individuals.
  • Individuals would be able to acquire skills in relevant areas of IT needed by MDAs by attending regular interactions with NITA
  • NITA would be able to track all IT individuals and IT services in the country.
  • Once certified, there is credibility amongst individuals and organizations providing services to government.
  • The certification of individuals and organizations will indicate some level of assurance of IT security from the individuals as well as the IT Vendor.
  • This will reinforce coherence in IT adoption, implementation, development, deployment and investment by government and MDAs

PAYMENT FAQs

Please take the time to read and understand the payment instructions below before proceeding with your application.

  • About the payment provider (Ghana.Gov)?
    • All online payments will be processed through the Ghana.Gov payment platform.
    • After filling an application and issued a payment invoice, you will be redirected to the payment gateway to complete the transaction.
    • After completing the transaction, you will be redirected back to the NITA portal.
    • The invoice status will be validated and all payment statuses related to your application will be updated.
  • What are the available payment methods?
    • Bank Card
    • Mobile Money
    • USSD Code Payment
    • Pay at Bank via Direct Deposit or Cheque Payments with invoice number as payment identifier
  • Payment Instructions

    • Bank Card
      • After clicking "Pay" to view the payment dialog.
      • Select Bank Card and click continue
      • Provide your card details and click continue
      • Click on the Pay button to complete the payment.
      • You will be redirected automatically back to the NITA portal after successful processing.
      • Your payment status will be verified and all payment statuses will be updated.
    • Mobile Money
      • Choose Mobile Money payment on the payment dialog.
      • Select the mobile money network. NB: Please note, your mobile number in your user account here on this portal is the same number that will be supplied on your invoice upon creation. And for only "MTN" numbers especially, it cannot be changed on the Ghana.Gov payment screen as it will be loaded automatically from your invoice. You can supply a different number for Telecel and AirtelTigo for payment.
      • Click on continue after providing / confirming the phone number for payment.
      • You will recieve a mobile money prompt on your phone to confirm and approve payment.
      • After successful payment processing, you will be redirected to back to NITA regulatory portal.
      • Your payment status will be verified and all payment statuses will be updated.
    • USSD Code Payment
      • Choose "Pay with *222#" on the payment dialog.
      • You will see a USSD code like this *222*260908125432122#. Where the number after *222* is your unique invoice number.
      • Enter this code on your phone to complete USSD payment.
      • You will receive payment success confirmation text message from your chosen mobile money provider and Ghana.Gov
      • Click on "Confirm Payment" in the payment dialog on Ghana.Gov to complete the process.
      • You will be redirected back to the NITA regulatory portal automatically.
      • Your payment status will be verified and all payment statuses will be updated.
    • Pay at Bank
      • Please visit your bank or any bank branch near you to make in person payments
      • You can pay via cash or cheque at the bank with your invoice number as payment reference.
      • All the banks know how to process Ghana.Gov payments with your invoice number, just inform the bank attendant you're making and Ghana.Gov payment and provide your invoice number.
      • For cheque payments, please provide your invoice number on the back of the cheque and address the cheque to National Information Technology Agency (NITA).
      • After successful processing of your cheque and notified by bank, kindly login into your account on the regulatory portal.
      • Access your invoices by clicking your "User Account Dropdown" on the top right corner of the page, click on "Invoices" to view all invoices, find your invoice and click on the "CHECK STATUS" button. You will be redirected to an invoice verification page where the payment status of your invoice will be verified and all payment statuses related to your application will be updated.
  • What about payment related issues?
