This application form is for the purpose of registering all IT Service Provider in the country for certification purposes by the NATIONAL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AGENCY (NITA)
BACKGROUND
As part of its activities, the Agency intends to register IT professionals and certify IT Suppliers/Vendors who provide IT services and equipment to MDAs/MMDAs in the fulfillment of government’s ultimate strategic goal of ensuring a secure, robust, and interoperable e-government Infrastructure for communications, networks, servers, Internet and web services, applications, security and core cross government systems.
The registration will enhance the level of IT security needed to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of IT at all times cognizance of cyber security challenges.
OBJECTIVE
Certifying these IT individuals and organizations is as a result of the level of IT security needed to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of IT at all times cognizance of cyber security challenges that we face in the use of IT. The objective of this is therefore to create a vast array of credible IT professionals and cohesion in the development, deployment and investment in IT in fulfillment of government’s digital agenda.
APPLICATION PROCESS
- Organizations would be mandated to fill and submit an online application form via (regulatory.nita.gov.gh) at a fee based on some requirements.
- After application, organizations would be contacted and certificates issued.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Application Requirements for IT Service Provider Certification
a. Various company certificates and other documents include;
- Certificate of incorporation; (from Registrar General).
- Certificate to commence business.
- Regulations of the Company.
b. Tax Identification Number (TIN) of the IT Service Provider
c. Certified copies of the shareholders' certificates of the company; (If it applys choice of company type provided in the initial forms)
d. Digital address of IT Service Provider
e. In the case of a Foreign Company;
- Proof of registration with a contractor(s) or a local partner.
- Proof of current registration status from their country of domicile or origin.
PURPOSE OF CERTIFICATION
- Once certified, there is credibility amongst individuals and organizations providing services to government.
- The certification of individuals and organizations will indicate some level of assurance of IT security from the individuals as well as the IT Vendor.
- This will reinforce coherence in IT adoption, implementation, development, deployment and investment by government and MDAs

Categories of IT Service Providers and thier various Principal Activities
i. Computers and peripheral equipment
- a. Point-of-sale terminals, ATMs and similar machines
- b. Portable automatic data processing machines weighing not more than 10 kg, such as laptop and notebook computers.
- c. Personal digital assistants and similar computers.
- d. Automatic data processing machines, comprising in the same housing at least a central processing unit and an input and output unit, whether or not combined.
- e. Automatic data processing machines presented in the form of systems.
- f. Other automatic data processing machines whether or not containing in the same housing one or two of the following types of units: storage units, input units, output units.
